What is the evaluation criteria of CEED?

And we have done it, we have read your mind once again! You want to know the CEED evaluation criteria, right? Well, it’s coming up!

CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design) holds its exam every year for admission to IIT and the institutes affiliated with it under its master’s programmes in the design fields. Their website mentions their evaluation criteria briefly.

Shortlisting: Marks obtained in Part-A will be used to shortlist candidates. The cut-off marks (δ) for Part-A for shortlisting candidates in the GEN category will be μ+(σ2)⁄=δ, where μ is the average mark, and σ is the standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of CEED 2023. The μ and σ will be rounded-off to two decimal places. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfil a relaxed cut-off mark, which will be 0.9δ for OBC-NCL/EWS and 0.5δ for SC/ST/PwD. 

Part-B answer books will be evaluated manually ONLY for those candidates who are shortlisted from Part-A. Part-B of CEED contains subjective questions and there are no model solutions for the same. It will be evaluated holistically on a set of criteria given in the question. There is NO provision for RE-EVALUATION or RE-TOTALLING in CEED. Request for re-evaluation or re-totalling will NOT be entertained under any circumstances. 

The final CEED score will be calculated by giving 25% weightage to marks obtained in Part-A and 75% weightage to marks obtained in Part-B, after the above calculation.
