When do forms come out for NID, NIFT and UCEED/CEED?

To kick off your journey into NID, NIFT, IDC(IIT) or any other design colleges, you’ve gotta start with filling out their admission forms. Easy peasy? Not really!

Keep all the latest versions of your documents ready, by your side. And submit your admission form before the deadlines – you don’t want the late fee charges haunting you. “But when do those forms even come out?”, you may ask.

Well, the release dates for application forms for NID, NIFT, UCEED, and CEED entrances may vary from year to year (*screams in frustration*).

However, based on past years’ trends and data, the forms usually come out by -

NID (National Institute of Design) - the first week of October

(the last date of application typically falls in the last week of November)

NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) - the third week of October

(the last date of application typically falls in the last week of December)

UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design) - the second week of October

(the last date of application typically falls in the last week of November)

CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design) - the second week of October

(the last date of application typically falls in the last week of November)

Remember though, that these dates are just an approximation. To get the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding release dates, keep checking the official websites of the respective colleges regularly or contact the administration directly -

NIFT : https://nift.ac.in

UCEED : https://www.uceed.iitb.ac.in

CEED : https://www.ceed.iitb.ac.in

Now, while you're twiddling your thumbs day after day, waiting for those admission forms, why not round up the recent versions of your documents and have them good to go? While it varies from college to college, some of the common documentation requirements are regarding -

- Personal Details

- Valid Identification Proof (like Aadhar card, Passport, etc)

- Educational Qualifications (keep those Board and Passing certificates ready)

- Photograph (recent, passport-sized) & Signature

- Category and Reservation details (if applicable)

- Application fees

Some colleges, like NID, might throw in an extra hoop for you at the time of filling out admission forms – you would be expected to jot down 1-3 short essays or SOPs. They may cover stuff like introducing yourself or spilling the beans on why you want to be part of that specific college. Prepare beforehand. Be creative, and true to yourself. Whether your answers actually affect your application or not, you still want to put out your best impression out there and leave no stone unturned.

Pay close attention when filling out your application, and make sure to submit it along with all the required documents on time. Don't let a slip-up at this stage cost you the chance to get into any of these colleges.
